The largest of our self-catering cottages, calming modern-country interiors following renovation in 2021. Highfield sleeps 4 with space for a extra bed and cot if needed. Two bathrooms with showers (one with a bath). Excellent kitchen with range cooker and beautiful oak dining table which sleeps up to 10 people. A very spacious lounge with additional dining / card games table.
A pretty stone-built cottage, Hernie Cleugh is the little sister to Highfield next door. Two super bedrooms upstairs (one king and one twin), shower room downstairs. Well-equipped kitchen, dining table and living area. Private garden area with table and chairs.
Along a farm track, in a valley all of its own, lies Fairnielees. It’s a house with 3 bedrooms, sleeping 6 guests comfortably plus an additional office space with sofa bed. This cottage is open primarily in the spring to autumn months. The potential for snow over the winter means that stays in December to March are only possible with a 4×4 vehicle!
Former gamekeeper’s cottage which has also been fully renovated. Gorgeous interiors and generous living space for 4 guests (plus camp beds and travel cots if needed). Two bath/shower rooms. Open plan living-kitchen-dining with a separate lounge.
The self-catering cottages can be taken individually or as a group. Across our cottages, we can accommodate 20+ guests.
Highfield and Hernie Cleugh have interconnecting doors which we can open up if required. The resulting cottage has 4 bedrooms and 3 bath/shower rooms as well as plenty of living space.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the cottage. It is very spacious and cosy at the same time, and very clean. It was the ideal base to explore the Borders, and the coast isn't far away. Ideal spot for families.David - Berry Hill - October 2020
Fantastic cottage. Quite remote...you have beautiful walks from the front doorstep and that’s what we wanted. Plus there is a hotel 1 mile down the hill. Absolutely spotless with a really well equipped kitchen. We would definitely come back! Thank you Jo.Nicola - House on the Hill - May 2021
Well appointed and stylishly designed cottage. Would definitely recommend to friends or to return myself.Seb - Berry Hill - December 2020
We have just spent 3 nights at this lovely cosy cottage. Full of character. Very clean and well equipped. A perfect base to explore the area. Jo was very attentive and a great host. Nothing was too much trouble. Would highly recommend.Amanda - Little House on the Hill - October 2020
Perfect place for a break, we used for a family getaway and will be visiting again in the future. Cannot recommend Jo and the cottages highly enough!James - Little House on the Hill - August 2021
Really enjoyed our stay at this lovely cottage. It was spotlessly clean and had everything we needed for our 3 night stay. Great rural location but close enough to Melrose, Kelso and other border towns for a day trip. Some beautiful scenery in that part of the world. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this cottage for a family break.Claire - Berry Hill - September 2021
